| Enhancing Cathodic Protection of an oil tanker hull |
|
In collaboration with ICE International, the Cathodic Protection system of an oil tanker was studied. The CP system is a combination of Impressed Currents and Sacrificial Anodes. Protection levels on the complete hull have been determined against:
- seawater characteristics;
- coating quality;
- operating conditions (ship speed).
Result is an improved design, optimizing protection and extending operational time.
